Messages
Nodes that reply, send, edit, read, delete and react to messages.
Message nodes are how a bot talks. Most reply to the person who started the flow. A few post elsewhere, and a few read or change messages that already exist.
Answer once, then send
A command or button press can be answered once. Use a reply node first, then Send to a channel or Edit a message for anything after.

Naming a message
Nodes that act on a message that already exists (edit, read, delete, react, pin, reply to) take a Message setting. It can be:
| Written as | Means |
|---|---|
A link, such as https://discord.com/channels/1/2/3 | That message, wherever it is. Right-click a message and choose Copy Message Link. |
channel-message, two ids joined by a dash | What Discord copies with Shift held down. |
| An id alone | That message in the flow's own channel. |
| A token | {sent.link} is the message this flow last sent, {message.link} the one that started it, {fetched.link} the one last read. |
Left empty, each node says what it acts on instead, usually the message that started the flow.
Mentions
Nodes that send a message have Mentions that notify. A mention written in the message always shows; this decides who actually gets a ping:
| Choice | Pings |
|---|---|
| All of them | Everyone mentioned, including @everyone and @here. Discord's own rule. |
| Members only | Members, never roles or @everyone. |
| Members and roles | Members and roles, never @everyone. |
| None | Nobody. |
Use None or Members only whenever the message includes text people typed, so nobody can make the bot ping the whole server.
Files
Reply, Send to a channel and Direct message can attach files: one address per line, up to 10 files of 10 MB each. The bot fetches them when the step runs. {fetched.attachment} attaches the first file of a message read with Read a message.
Older nodes
Plain text reply, Embed reply and Message with a select menu are no longer in the picker: Reply and Message with buttons or a menu do the same and more. Flows that have them keep working.
