Send as someone else
Post a message with another name and picture, through a webhook.
message.webhook posts through a webhook, so the message shows the name and picture you give it instead of the bot's.
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Channel | Where to post. The bot makes a webhook in the channel the first time and reuses it after. |
| In a thread of it | A thread of that channel to post in instead, such as {thread.id}. |
| Or a webhook's address | Any Discord webhook's address, used instead of a channel, even one in another server. {secret.NAME} is filled in here, so keep the address as a secret. |
| Name | The name shown, such as {user.name}. |
| Picture | The address of an image to show beside it. |
| Message, Embed | What to send. |
| Mentions that notify | See Mentions. |
Ways out
out. Turn on If it fails for a red way out.
Tokens
{sent.id}, {sent.channel} and {sent.link} are the message just sent.
Notes
- Posting through the bot's own webhook needs the Manage Webhooks permission.
- A webhook message can't have buttons, and can't be the answer to a command: reply first, then send this.
Example
A /say command that reposts what someone typed under their own name and picture, for role-play channels.
