Create a thread
Start a public or private thread in a channel, on its own or from a message.
server.threadCreate starts a thread.
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| In channel | The channel to start it in. |
| Name | The thread's name, such as {user.name}'s question. |
| From a message | A message in that channel to start it from, so the thread hangs off it. See Naming a message. |
| Private thread | When on, only invited members and moderators can see it. |
Ways out
out. Turn on If it fails for a red way out.
Produces
{thread.id}, {thread} and {thread.mention}: the thread just made. Send to a channel posts in it with In a thread of it.
Notes
- The bot needs permission to create threads in that channel. Private threads need the Create Private Threads permission.
- The canvas shows the name and channel.
Example
On Message sent in a support channel, start a thread from {message.id} named after the question, and post the help text in it.
