Check a feed
Notice new posts on an RSS or Atom feed, such as a YouTube channel's or a blog's.
integration.feed reads a feed and says whether its newest item is one it hasn't seen before. Run it from a schedule to announce new videos or posts.
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Feed address | Any RSS or Atom feed. A YouTube channel's is https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?channel_id= and the channel's ID. |
| Announce what's there the first time | Otherwise the first check only notes where the feed is up to, so turning the flow on doesn't announce an old post. |
Ways out
| Way out | Taken when |
|---|---|
Something new | The newest item is new since the last check. |
Nothing new | It isn't, or the feed is empty. |
Turn on If it fails for a red way out, taken when the address can't be read or isn't a feed.
Produces
| Token | Value |
|---|---|
{feed.item.title}, {feed.item.link} | The newest item |
{feed.item.author}, {feed.item.summary} | Who made it, and the start of what it says |
{feed.item.published} | When it came out, in seconds since 1970 |
{feed.title} | The feed's own title |
{feed.new} | How many items are new since the last check |
Notes
- Each step remembers its own place in its feed, so two steps can watch the same feed for different channels.
- Only the newest item is announced, however many are new:
{feed.new}says how many there were.
Example
Every 10 minutes, check a YouTube channel's feed and post New video: {feed.item.title} {feed.item.link} in an announcements channel.
